BMHRC Specialist Grade III Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
To apply for these positions, candidates must possess:
- A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule, Second Schedule, or Part II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Post-graduate degree or diploma in the concerned specialty:
- For Medicine: Doctor of Medicine (Medicine) or Doctor of Medicine (General Medicine)
- For Ophthalmology: Master of Surgery (Ophthalmology), Doctor of Medicine (Ophthalmology), Diploma in Ophthalmology, or Diploma in Ophthalmic Medicine and Surgery
- Experience Requirements:
- Three years’ experience in the concerned specialty after obtaining the first postgraduate degree, OR
- Five years’ experience after postgraduate diploma
Special Notes on Qualifications
- Holders of DM or M.Ch. qualifications of five years’ duration can count their senior postgraduate residency period in the last part of DM/M.Ch. toward the experience requirement.
- ICMR has discretion to relax qualifications for otherwise well-qualified candidates.
- Experience requirements may be relaxed for SC/ST candidates if sufficient candidates with requisite experience are not available.
Age Limit
Candidates must not exceed 40 years of age as of the closing date for receipt of online applications (June 2, 2025).
Age Relaxation: Government servants may receive relaxation of up to five years in accordance with Central Government instructions.
